70's Chic

In case you didn't know EVERYTHING for this spring is taking us back to the 70's. Almost every designer has inspiration from 70's fashion in their 2011 spring lines.

The 70's was a special time for fashion because it gained a little more attention and people became a lot more aware of trends and style. Here are some key pieces that you are going to need to update your closet with for this spring season!

Fringe Handbags:
Fringe has officially made its comeback. I have a mustard yellow fringe handbag that I will never be able to get rid of because it is one of my all time favorites. It was actually a steal not a splurge and those are the best kind! If you have to this is a splurge kind of item for this spring. Here I found a pink fringe bag for $395.00 at Djpremium.com. This dark brown is cheaper from asos.com for $62.76.
Maxi dresses/skirts:
From skirts and dresses to their hair, people from the 70's liked it long!!To get an early start to my spring fashion trends I have already purchased several skirts/dresses. Being the latest trend you can find these at any store right now.Bottom line invest in a maxi if you haven't yet or you will be left far behind. This pink maxi skirt is from anthropologie.com $128.00.The olive stripe skirt is a little bit budget friendly $46.00 BBDakota.com.The off-the-shoulder cream dress is a design from net-a-porter.com $1,295.00.The black maxi dress with pink roses is $58.00 from shopnastygal.com. Last but not least the basic essential maxi for ONLY $10.00 from the one and only (never letcha down) forever21.com.
Pants/Jumpsuits:
One of my favorite part of the 70's era are jumpsuits!!Icons like Elvis and The Brady Bunch made the jumpsuit what is today. In 2008 it made its comeback and is still trying to weasel its way into your closet so give it a chance! If you are to nervous you can also give the illusion with the bell-bottom pants with a same color top. The one shoulder floral print jumpsuit is $89.63 asos.com. The strapless printed blue is from tillys.com $27.99. The orange halter print is Marc Jacobs $1,300.00 Bergdorf Goodman. Next are the pants (which I am totally in love with this pair, but cannot make myself buy them)from freepeople.com $108.00.The wide leg trousers by LOVE** are from topshop.com $76.00. The last pair are navy blue pleated and also from topshop.com $100.00.

Platform Sandals:
Any of these grooooovy sandals will be a great start to your spring to go in to summer. Most of them are actually pretty comfortable and not that hard to walk in because of the stability of the soul. I would suggest getting a pair that are not to high so you can wear them more. For me the skies the limit with my heels because I'm a shorty. P.S. platforms aren't just for discos. The first pair are (my pick and my recent purchase)Jessica Simpson $98.00 piperlime.com. Despite the 5 inch heel they are as comfortable as a heel can be and easy to walk in. The tan wedges with tassel zipper on the back are by Dolce Vita $178.00 freepeople.com. The navy/leather ankle wrap platform is Christian Louboutin $995.00 neimanmarcus.com. The olive green wood heel platforms are (also in my closet, but in pink) from charlotterusse.com only $35.50.
Flared Sleeves:
If its a mini dress or a dainty top it needs flared sleeves for the 70's. I love long sleeve dresses especially for the temperature change when you don't really know what to wear.. well now is the time! Flare sleeved tops look cute paired with shorts and platforms or flats. The first dress (once worn by Kelly Ripa) is found at boutiquetoyou.com for $220.00. The navy dress is found at shopbop.com $209.00. The cream flared top(cute with ripped jeans)is $174.00 piperlime.com. The last one i LOVE is from asos.com $98.62 (I see it in my future)

Want Kourtney Kardashian's Look? FOR LESS!

Out of the Kardashian sisters, Kourtney has to be my favorite. Although, I'm not a fan of an all black closet I do love Kourts' fashion choices. She does know how to go outside her black wardrobe at times and its a good thing when she does. She likes sleek and intricate pieces that catch your eye. Here are tips on how to get her look for less!

All three of these outfits are so easy to put together. I can show you where to find the key pieces that help Kourtney look polished in her black ensembles.

For the picture on the far left the pleated black mini and leopard heels are pretty easy to come by. This skirt look a like is from shopbob.com and 50% off $99.00. I also found leopard heels on amazon.com for only $36.30.

For the second look I found these black wide leg trousers (that I have) on lulus.com for ONLY $36.00. The third look I found on ArdenB.com 20% off for $59.00.

These looks are a little more springish, but just as easy to snag!

These cargo pants are one of Kourtneys favorites! I found mine at Target on the sale rack, but we all can't be that lucky. I also found some at Old Navy for $25.00. Then I found these Faded Glory brand from Wal Mart for ONLY $12.00!! Can not pass up that deal.

I could defiantly see myself wearing this outfit Kourtney has on here. The soft colors really show off her skin tone and look perfect for spring! The cream blazer is from anthropologie.com for $128.00 (it is a splurge but a good staple to have in your closet for tons of possible options) The mint green dress was found on modcloth.com(one of my favorite websites) for $74.99.The light blue dress can be found at JCrew.com for $88.00.

We can all relate to this look she is sporting in this picture(especially since her shorts are from FOREVER21). The high waisted shorts look good on a figure like Kourtney's. You can also pair them with tights for winter or a long sleeve shirt for now while we transition into spring.

These shorts that are pictured with a black shirt and bow belt are from buykfo.com $21.50 For a different color but the same look try these coral colored shorts for a pop from Asos.com $53.79.

To complete every look Kourtney loves to add heels!! Don't forget these when you are pieces together your latest Kourtney Kardashian look for less.
I found the grey zipper platforms on shoedazzle.com where everything is $39.99(how appropriate) The tan pair I found on forevever21.com for $27.80. The black paten leather platforms are from amiclubwear.com $25.99.The pearl Jessica Simpson shoes were found at Macys.com $89.00. The last pair are black suede and Steve Madden from stevemadden.com $110.00.
